Mary Gladys Heavner Mauney, age 86, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Peak Resources Cherryville. She was born March 15, 1930 in Gaston County to the late Vonnie Lee and Nancy Moore Heavner. Gladys retired from Vision Hosiery in Belmont and was a member of Puett United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hardin Mauney and brothers, James, J.B., Lester and Bob Heavner.
She is survived by her son, Gary Robert Mauney and wife, Angelika Marie of Bessemer City; sister, Vivian Patterson; grandchildren, Nicole Michele Stevenson and husband, Tommy and great-grandchildren, Isiah, Elijah and Alivia Stevenson.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 3:00 PM at Puett United Methodist Church with Rev. Wade Childers and Rev. Tony Jordan officiating. Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Carpenter-Porter Funeral & Cremation Services.
