Mary Jane Graeff Lowdermilk

Mary Jane Graeff Lowdermilk of Rutherfordton, age 64, died Friday, March 13, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.

Born November 29, 1950 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was a daughter to Duane Robert Graeff and the late Mary Nora Collier Graeff. She was a homemaker who was devoted to her family and enjoyed flower gardening, working puzzles and reading. Mary was full of love for her family delighted in cooking and taking care of each family member. She was a member of Forest City Foursquare Church.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by two infant great grandchildren, Madison and Mason White.

Besides her father, she is survived by her step-mother, Mary Ellen Graeff; two daughters, Karen Suttle and fiancé, Lee of Salisbury and Kim Smith and husband, Tommy of Henrietta; four sons, Chris Graeff of Ogden, Utah, Kevin Johnson and fiancé, Renee of Mooresboro, Kenneth Johnson and wife, Lydia of Cowpens and Steven Ponder of Forest City; seven sisters, Ruth Wise of Wichita, KS, Margaret Massey of Richmond, VA, Sandra Long of Wichita, Patricia Ramirez of Lawrence, KS, Linda Walburn of Oskaloosa, KS, Terry Giles of Wichita and Kathy Burley of Utica, KS. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Haley Hefner, Michael Young, Kristina Gordon, Daniel Suttle, Amber Suttle, Erica White, Kimerson Smith, Kaleb Johnson, Karson Johnson, Isaiah Ponder, Savannah Ponder; four great-grandchildren, Hunter Hefner, Daisy Hefner, Aliyah Gordon and Emma Gordon.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, 2015 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Bobby Gettys, Reverend Kenneth Linder and Mr. David Linder officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. The body will lie in state two hours before service time.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations are suggested to Grace of God Rescue Mission, PO Box 212, Forest City, NC 28043.

Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services had been entrusted with arrangements.
