Mary Ledford Kistler, 102, passed away Tuesday May 7, 2013, at Shelby Manor. 

She was born June 16, 1910 in Belwood, NC a daughter of the late Plato and Georgia Ledford.  She married the late Brady Kistler in 1934.  Mary was retired from Sears and Roebuck, Company and was a member of Central United Methodist Church. 

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Brady, son Joseph, daughter-in-law Sandy, and sister Joyce Ledbetter.

Mary is survived by her son Dean of Shelby, daughter-in-law Sherry Kistler of Rutherfordton, grandsons Mike & Lori of Grover, Steve & Lisa of Bessemer City, Chuck & Elyse of Charlotte, and granddaughter Karla & Darshan Patel of Raleigh.  She is also survived by 5 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 12noon – 1pm, Wednesday May 8, at Cecil Burton Funeral Home. 

The funeral will be held at Cecil Burton Funeral Home Chapel at 1pm, Wednesday May 8, officiated by Craig Langston.  Burial will follow at Kistler United Methodist Church in Lawndale.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Central United Methodist Church of Shelby, 200 East Marion Street, Shelby NC 28150, Kistler United Methodist Church of Lawndale, 846 Casar-Lawndale Road, Lawndale, NC 28090, or Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church of Lawndale, 110 Warlick Road, Lawndale, NC 28090.
