Mary Lorene Whitaker Price
Mrs. Mary Lorene Whitaker Price, 83, of Allendale Drive passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014 at home with her daughter by her side.

Born in Cleveland County on July 20, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Lewis Richard Whitaker and Mamie Bell Wallace Whitaker.  Mrs. Price was a charter member of Westview Baptist Church and enjoyed her volunteer work
with hospice.

She was involved in many business ventures with her husband,  Roy, the last of which was Specialty Lighting.  She stood loyally by him and worked along side him as their business grew.  She began her business career at Campbell's Department Store and enjoyed a time at Hudson Hosiery.

During a life filled with career and work, she found time to love two special grandchildren - always willing to give to make life easier for them. She was so proud of their accomplishments and successes.

The last years of declining health have been a time of great joy for this family.  Ms. Lorene has been able to be at home with the loving care of Bayada caregivers:  Suzette Bangs, Charlotte Byers, Kim Hopper, Cheryl Joiner, and Tracy Read - each of whom have become a special part of our family.  They have provided  home and  security and constant, unwavering care -  gifting Lorene with happiness and smiles.  They have given us the opportunity to make each day the best day possible.

Lorene Price was a woman of great faith who shared the love of God and the saving grace of Jesus with her family.  She lived with a quiet strength knowing that God had His hands firmly under her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Zula Allen Whitaker; husband, Roy Lee Price; sister, Dora Hendrick; brothers-in-law, A.D. Hendrick, Charles Raines and Wilbur Price.

Lorene is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynn and R.  Neil Wright of Shelby; granddaughter, Wendy Wright Parker of Spartanburg; grandson, Wesley Neil Wright of Charlotte;  sisters, Louise Raines of Shelby and
Margaret Weathers and husband Donald of Shelby; brothers-in-law and their wives, Robert and Ruby Price of Shelby and Richard and Sue Price of Bostic, numerous nieces and nephews,  and special friend and caregiver, Glenn Wright
of Shelby.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Fallston.  Online condolences may be made at
www.stameytysingerfuneralhome.com.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, at Pleasant Grove
Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Black officiating.  The body will be placed
in the church thirty minutes prior to the service.
