Mrs. Mary Ruth Homesley Mundy, age 88, of 515 Generals Blvd., Lincolnton, N.C., formerly of Cherryville, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at her residence. Mary Ruth was born on February 19, 1924, the daughter of the late Amos Pinkney Homesley, Sr. and Margaret Elizabeth Farris Homesley, she was a Cherryville High School Graduate and member of the First Baptist Church, Cherryville.
She was a nutritionist at Senior Center in Cherryville, for the Gaston County Department of Social Service. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Lee Mundy , 6 brothers, and three sisters.
Survivors: A son: Michael Mundy of Charlotte, 2 daughters: Lisa Anne Mauney and Husband Phil of Crouse, Margaret Lyles of Lincolnton. Three grandchildren, Blake Edward Putnam, Stacy Cornwell and husband Kasey, Anna Ruth Mauney. Two great grandchildren, Ava Lee Cornwell and Kasen Lewis Cornwell.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00PM Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at the First Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Vince Hefner officiating. Burial will be in the City Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00PM to 1:45PM in the church santurary.
