Mary Ruth Leigh Hovis, of E. Stagecoach Trail, Lawndale, died Friday,
December 16, 2016 at The Parc at Sharon Amity in Charlotte.

She was born in Cleveland County on December 18, 1929 to the late George B.
Leigh and Jettie Pearl Crawford Leigh. She was retired from White Oak Manor
Kings Mountain as a CNA and enjoyed selling items at trade lots.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William
C. Hovis; two sons, Gerald Owensby and Kenny Owensby; daughter, Janice
Williams; brother, Gene Leigh; sister, Edna Scales.

She is survived by two sons, Ronnie Owensby of Mt. Holly and Dean Owensby of
Cherryville; daughter, Debra Gibbons of Lawndale; six brothers, Jack Leigh,
Fred Leigh, Steve Leigh, Sam Leigh, Carl Leigh, and Joe Leigh; sister, Faye
Mann; seven grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren.

Services will be held at a later date.
