Mary Sue Barrett Putnam

Gaffney -- Mary Sue Barrett Putnam, 90, formerly of Grover, passed away Thursday, November 5th, 2015, at Magnolias of Gaffney.

Born in Earl, she was the widow of William Franklin Putnam and the daughter of the late Charlie and Floise Davis Barrett. Mrs. Putnam retired from Fiber and was a member of First Baptist Church of Grover.

Surviving Mrs. Putnam are one son, Harold Putnam, of Blacksburg; one daughter, Sheila White, of Gaffney; one brother, Charles Barrett, Jr., of Shelby; and one sister, Verie Grigg, of Shelby; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Putnam was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Putnam, and a sister, Dot Hamilton.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 8th, 2015, from 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm at First Baptist Church of Grover. Funeral services will immediately follow at 3:00 pm with Rev. John Barnhardt and Rev. Wofford Caughman officiating. Interment will follow at Grover City Cemetery. David Hardin, Terry Grigg, Roy Brackins, Ron McLean, and Mike Teague will serve as pallbearers.

The family will be at the home of Sheila White, 135 Oak Creek Circle, Gaffney, SC.
