Mary Sue Fisher Pearson, age 83, died Monday, April 3, 2017 at Peak Resources in Cherryville. Born in Cleveland County on January 25, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John Clayton and Della Marie Queen Fisher. Sue was a faithful member of New Bethel Church of Shelby, and would be there when her health would let her. She worked for J. C. Penny in Shelby where she retired as a department manager after 20 years of service. Sue joined the Eastern Star, when she lived in Texas, and was a member of the Red Hat Club in Shelby. In addition to her parents, Sue is preceded in death by her husband James Arnold Pearson; and a daughter, Terry Lynn Pearson.

Sue is survived by a sister-in-law, Jean Whaley of Shelby; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Eddie Gray officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and loving staff at Peak Resources in Cherryville for the compassion and care that they showed Sue during her stay with them.
