Mary Sue Martin Olsen, age 99, died Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at Brookdale in Shelby. Born in Greenville SC on August 20, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Edward Lafayette and Mae L. Cannon Martin. Mary Sue was a member of First Baptist Church. She retired from Dover Mill as a secretary after a number of years of service. When Mary Sue was able, she enjoyed sewing and gardening. In addition to her parents, Mary Sue is preceded in death by her husband, Harley E. Olsen; six sisters, Alva McAlister, Lillian "Sis: Bolt, Runette Simpson, Claudia Smith, Francis Martin, and Doris Connor; and a brother, Charles "Pepper" Martin.

Mary Sue is survived by two nephews, Eddie and Charles; and four nieces, Mary Ann, Nancy, Jane, and Ann.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00am in the chapel of

Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery. The family will receive friends an hour before the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the funeral home.
