Hickory Grove -- Mattie Lea Ware Gaddis, 79, of 13530 Smithford Road, passed away Monday, March 6th, 2017, at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Murphy, NC, she was the wife of Wayne Gaddis and the daughter of the late Sim Ware and Birdie Morrow Ware. Mrs. Gaddis retired as a Seamstress and was a member of Broad River Baptist Church of Smyrna.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Gaddis is survived by one daughter, Teresa Gaddis Wyatt, of Hickory Grove; one son, Sam Richardson, of Gaffney; two brothers, Earl Ware of Murphy, NC and Corbin Ware of Murphy, NC; and four grandchildren, Brett Wyatt, Brittany Wyatt, Cheyenne Avant, and Dawton Reed.

Mrs. Gaddis was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gordon and Sam Ware; and three sisters, Bessie Spurlin, Bobbie Moss, and Willie Huggins.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 10th, 2017, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary, 400 West Cherokee Street, Blacksburg, South Carolina 29702. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 11th, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Broad River Baptist Church of Smyrna, 2315 Legion Road, Smyrna, SC 29743. Interment will follow at Broad River Baptist Church Cemetery (Smyrna). Sammy Richardson, Brett Wyatt, Ralph Wyatt, Bobby Reed, Marcus Wingate, Clint Gaddis, and Ed Gaddis will serve as pallbearers.
