Maude Crisp Reid

Maude Crisp Reid, 102, entered the church triumphant on March 2, 2015. Born on September 3, 1912 in Lenoir, N.C., daughter of the late Millard and Edna Crisp, she was happily married for 53 years to the late Snow Reid. After graduating from Business College, Maude began working for attorneys in Lenoir and later in Shelby, N.C. She also worked for the draft board and the U.S. Federal Probation Office. Along with working outside the home, Maude was an exemplary homemaker, an outstanding cook, and a firm but loving mother. A longtime member of Shelby Presbyterian Church, she became the church's first woman elder and taught adult Sunday school classes. Maude was also active on the Salvation Army Board. She continued to be active in her later years with trips to Europe, piano lessons, and bread baking. Friends and family will remember the mischievous twinkle in her eye, her talents as a joke teller and her sense of style.

She is survived by her children Martha Reid Reagan of Augusta, GA and Max A. Reid of Torrington, WY; four grandchildren Rebecca Reagan and Katie McCullough (Jim) of Richmond, VA, Russell Federico of Tucson, AZ, and Avery Kumsher of Ames, IA; brother, Robert Lee Crisp of Sanibel, FL. and six great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Brandon Wilde in Evans, GA who took such loving care of her.

Graveside services will be Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 11:00am at Cleveland Memorial Park followed by memorial services and visitation with the family at 2:00pm Shelby Presbyterian Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Shelby Presbyterian Church Memorial Fund 226 East Graham Street Shelby, N.C. 28150 or Covenant Presbyterian Church 3131 Walton Way Augusta, Ga 30909.
