Maurice Howard Costner, 87, of Bald Mountain Road, Casar, away Thursday,
March 19, 2015 at his home.

He was born in Cleveland County on May 3, 1927, to the late Ambrose Kelly
Costner and Susan Elizabeth Peeler Costner. He was retired from Artee
Industries and was a member of St. Paul Baptist Church, Casar. Mr. Costner
also served in the US Navy during World War II in the Pacific Theater.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers, Arthur
Costner, Gerald "Bunny" Costner, and Everett Costner and seven sisters,
Maybelle Willis, Stella Newton, Flossie Meade, Elua Downs, Lizzie Costner,
Madge Costner, and Elaine Causby.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Faye Canipe Costner; son, Dale
Costner and wife Debbie of Casar; daughter, Amy Mintz of Shallotte, NC; five
grandchildren, Kiley Costner Thiel, Kara Costner Blackney, Kelly Mintz,
Henry Mintz, and Wesley Mintz; four great grandchildren, Scheper Thiel,
Tucker Thiel, Chloe Reizner and Grayson Blackney and brother, Flay Costner
of Shelby.

Visitation: 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday at St. Paul Baptist Church, Casar

Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Sunday at St. Paul Baptist Church, Casar

Officiating: Rev. Keith Fulbright

Burial: will follow in the church cemetery
