Max Spencer Reynolds

Max Spencer Reynolds, 74, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 28, 2013 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.  Born in Cleveland County on November 26, 1938, he was the son of the late Jeff and Sudie Connor Reynolds.  Max worked for Fiber Industries for 20 years as maintenance supervisor and later retired from Stouffers.  He was an active member of Putnam Baptist Church. He served his country honorably in the US Air Force.   Max was an avid fisherman, a skilled handyman, loved gardening, and sharing his deep fried peanuts and skins with friends and family.  He looked forward to the Cleveland county fair each year where he helped take up tickets.  He loved helping people and spent his Wednesday nights helping the Awana groups at the church.  Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.  He was a beloved husband, father and grandfather.

 

Max is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Martha Buchanan Reynolds; son, Jeffrey Reynolds and wife Becky of Winston-Salem; daughter, Jennifer Reynolds Cohen and husband Arthur of Mooresboro; sister, Marie Padgett of Caroleen; brother Clyde Reynolds and wife Anne of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Max Spencer Reynolds II, Abigail Tyson Reynolds, Seth Hayden Reynolds, Spencer Cohen, Samantha Cohen and Jeffrey Cohen.

 

A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Putnam Baptist Church.  Rev. Bryan Glisson will be officiating.  Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 – 7:00pm on Wednesday, October 30, 2013 at Cecil M Burton Funeral Home and Crematory.  At others times the family will be at the home.
