Maxine Amanda Cooke Taylor, 76, of 604 Falcon Circle, Shelby, died Thursday,
April 10, 2014 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby.
Born May 25, 1937 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late Cletus
Cooke and Wilma Bradshaw Cooke. Mrs. Taylor was retired from Specialty
Lighting and was a member of Buffalo Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Carroll
Dean Taylor.
Survivors include two sons, Ronnie Taylor and Daniel Taylor both of Shelby;
daughter, Sherry Thomas and husband, Jay of Shelby; two grandchildren, Jacob
Thomas and Ashley Thomas; brother, Ray Cooke of Belwood and three sisters,
Lucille Canipe of Belwood, Faye Ledford of Newton and Ruth Chapman of
Connelly Springs.
Visitation: 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday at Stamey Funeral Home,
Fallston.
Funeral Service: 3:00 PM, Sunday at Buffalo Baptist Church, Shelby. The
body will be placed in the church thirty minutes before the service.
Officiating: Rev. Max Turner
Burial: will follow in Buffalo Baptist Church Cemetery
