Merna Elise Voorhis Clemens, 78, of Cleveland County passed away October 5, 2022 at Wendover Hospice House of Shelby.

She is preceded in death by her parents Douglas S. Voorhis and Erna V. Voorhis. She is also preceded in death by a sister Victoria Kempton and son Joel Clemens.

Merna leaves behind daughters, Melissa Casler of Ellenboro, NC, Karen Daryea of Westown, NY, Jessica (Steve) Kempter of Pinebush, NY and a brother Douglas Voorhis of Manahawkin, NJ and her companion of 23 years, Wayne Baker of Shelby, NC. Also left to cherish her memory are seven loving grandchildren.
