Michael Daniel "Boone" Mabe, age 32, of Forest City, died Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.
Born July 27, 1982 in Rutherford County, he was the son of Michael Mabe and Tammey Kimbrell Thompson. Michael worked as a welder for Boyd's Welding for several years and attended the Buffalo Baptist Church of Shelby. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and motorcycles and especially loved spending time with his little sister, Keeley.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Kevin Mabe Keeter; grandparents, Dan and Joyce Kimbrell; grandpa, Bill Mabe and great-grandmother, Rebecca Smith.
Survivors include his step-father, Dwayne Thompson; step-mother, Lisa Goforth Mabe; sister, Keeley Lynn Thompson all of Forest City; two step-brothers, Jason Thompson of Statesville and Josh Scoggins of Forest City; two step-sisters, Stephanie Hodge and Kelsey Scoggins both of Forest City; grandparents, Fran and Cindy Keeter of Forest City and Fred and Dorothy Thompson of Summerville, SC. He is also survived by a host of loving aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be conducted at three o'clock on Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
