Miles “Bob” Robert Shull, Jr., 66, of 472 Paul Beam Rd., died December 1, 2012 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was born on Nov 17, 1946 a son of the late Miles Robert Shull, Sr. and Lillian Brackett Shull Brown. Mr. Shull was a member of Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church, retired waste water treatment plant operator for the City of Cherryville with 31 years of service, former employed by Gaston County Police, Cherryville Police Dept., and the Newton Police Dept. Bob proudly and gallantly served his country as a medic in the U S Army during Viet Nam.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years Dianne Jennings Shull, a daughter Nikki Shipler and husband Dean of Cherryville, two grandchildren Sayde and Ella Shipler, sisters Doris Kruk of Gatlinburg, TN, Judy Gordon and Libby Arrowood both of Cherryville and his grand dog “Butter”.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at Cherryville Missionary Methodist Church at 3 PM with Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating with burial in City Memorial Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday at the church from 1:30-2:45 PM and other times at the home.
