Minerva Elizabeth Moore Thomas

Minerva Elizabeth Moore Thomas, 103, 140 Whites Farm Road, Blacksburg, went home to be with the Lord June 14, 2015, at Mary Black - Gaffney. A native of Blacksburg, she was married to the late Neely Thomas and was a daughter of the late John A. and Martha Jane "Matie" Thompson Moore. She was a life-long member of Mt. Paran Baptist Church where she was an active member of the Ladies' Sunday School Class and served as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Eastern Star. She loved her family and gardening. She worked on the farm, in a grammar school lunchroom and also in the textile industry.

Left to cherish her memory are three sons - Neil Thomas(Ouida) of West Columbia, TX, Gary Thomas(Brenda) and Wayne Thomas(Patsy) all of Blacksburg, SC; grandchildren - Pamela Homburg(Bill) of West Columbia, TX, Neil Thomas, Jr.(Virginia) of Montgomery, TX, Tena Earls(Verdell), Johnathan Thomas(Patricia), Christopher Thomas, and Joseph Thomas all of Blacksburg, SC; great-grandchildren - Neely Thomas(Trina), Melanie Henderson, Aubrey Thomas and Erin Thomas all of Blacksburg, SC, and Cody Thomas of Cowpens, SC; and four great-great grandchildren - Kelci Henderson, Danica Henderson, Kaleb Thomas and Trinly Thomas. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a grandson - Gregory Charles "Tater" Thomas; three brothers - Fred Moore, Martin Moore and Dever Moore; and three sisters - Ruth Wilson, Pearl Earl and Annie Lee Blanton.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 17, 2015, from 2-3:00 PM, at Mt. Paran Baptist Church. A Celebration Of Life Service will begin at 3:00 PM with Rev. Vernon Moore officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. At other times, they will be at the home.

Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
