Minnie Lou Callahan Winn

Minnie Lou Callahan Winn age 89, died Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Kings Mountain Hospice House. Born in Rutherford County on April 14, 1925 she was the daughter of the late Robert Wesley and Lora Ida Wilson Callahan. Minnie was a member of Boiling Springs Baptist Church where she attended for over 69 years and she loved her Sunday School Class. She worked at Hudson Hosiery until it closed and then for Campus Cupboard. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her grandchildren brought her much joy. She loved working in the yard and with her flowers and also quilting. In addition to her parents, Minnie is preceded in death by a brother, Loran Callahan; and two sisters, Beatrice Wheelus and Barbara Thornburg.

Minnie is survived by her husband of 72 years, Joe Winn; two sons, Bobby Winn and Dale Winn and wife Martha all of Shelby; three sisters, Irene Greene of Boiling Springs, Daphine Hamrick and Betty Gantt both of Shelby; three grandchildren, Myra Grigg, Jason Winn and wife Julie, and Heather Jones and husband Ronnie; eight great grandchildren, Cheyenne Frazier, Mackenzie Grigg, Sage McMahan, Abby McMahan, Brantley Winn, Anna Grace Winn, Brandon Jones, and Emily Jones; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 13, 2015 at Boiling Springs Baptist Church with Dr. Carroll Page and Dr. Jim Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends before the service, from 1:30 pm until 3:00 pm in the Life Enrichment Center.
