Monica Frances Beheler, age 57, died on Thursday January 28, 2016 at Carolinas Healthcare Cleveland. Born in Cleveland County on February 15, 1958, she was the daughter of John "Bill" Beheler of Shelby and the late Frances Mills Beheler. Monica was an active member of Eastside Baptist Church where she blessed others with her love of music. She was a member of the adult choir, the hand bell choir, directed the Little Angels Choir for over 21 years and served as church Hostess. Monica was a member of the Cherryville Rotary Club and was honored as Paul Harris Fellow. She was active with the City of Cherryville by planning events with the Chamber. Sports was Monica's passion and she was active in coaching and started the women's Volleyball program at East Lincoln High School. She loved cooking and traveling. In addition to her mother, Monica is preceded in death by her husband, Ronald "Bud" Detter and an infant son. In addition to her father, Bill Beheler, Monica is survived by her greatest joy, a son, James Detter of Shelby and a host of cousins.

Funeral service will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at 2:00 pm at Eastside Baptist Church with Rev. Dale Byrd and Rev. Leland Kerr officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, from 1:00pm until 2:00pm in the sanctuary. A private burial will be held on Monday at Cleveland Memorial Park.

The family would like to thank Judy Jackson, Brandy Dinius and the members of Eastside Baptist Church for all the love and care they gave to Monica.
