Monnie Hugh Wilkie, 72, of Business 74, Ellenboro, died on Wednesday, May 01, 2013 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County. A native of Rutherford County, he was born on April 16, 1941, a son of the late James and Rosie Mae Greene Wilkie. He was retired from Burlington Mills. He was a clock collector and enjoyed showing antique cars.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by an infant son. He is survived by his wife, Frances Byers Wilkie; one brother, Donald Wilkie and wife Judy of Ellenboro; brothers-in-law, Joe Byers, Gene Byers, and Bruce Byers, all of Forest City; sisters-in-law, Betty Byers of Forest City and Joyce McCurry of Simpsonville.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, May 03, 2013 at Cliffside Cemetery with the Rev. Teresa McCurry officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-2:00pm on Friday, May 03, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
