| Mr. Ronald Philip Gibson, 62, of 119 Crane Court, passed away Saturday October 22, 2011 at his residence. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Hershel and Dasiey Huffstetler Gibson. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather; he also had a love for classic cars. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict.
PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one sister, Beverly Kay Sisk.
SURVIVED: He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jane Newton Gibson of the home; one son, Ronald Philip Gibson, II of Western Carolina University; two daughters, Judy Kats and husband Dan of Knoxville, TN and Sheri Neal and husband Tom of Kings Mountain; one sister, Vickie Vann and husband Darrell of Florida; one brother, Don Gibson of Shelby; three grandchildren, Jessica Graham, Kristi Graham, and Courtney Neal; three great-grandchildren, Jonathan “JJ” Dixon, Jr., Haylie Dixon, and Deziree Dixon.
SERVICES: A Funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Tuesday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby Chapel.
VISITATION: The family will receive friends 6-8:00 pm Monday at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home of Shelby and other times at his home.
