Mrs. Fannie Ruth Brooks Hopper
Mrs. Fannie Ruth Brooks Hopper, 77, of 418 East Warren Street, Apt. 31-D, departed this earthly life to enter into eternal life on Sunday, May 19, 2013, at Kings Mountain Hospice, in Kings Mountain, NC.  She was born on June 21, 1935 in Cleveland County, NC to the late Marvin and Odessa Tipps Brooks.

“BD” as she was affectionately known, was a caring and kindhearted woman that accepted anyone.  “BD” was like a mother and opened her doors to everyone and welcomed family and friends to a traditional Sunday meal.  BD’s personality would make you laugh and she will be remembered and will remain in our hearts.

“BD” worked at Mulls Greenhouse for many years until her retirement.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Novella Rippy, Mary Sue Robinson, Elizabeth Wilson and Marthalean B. Mance and her four brothers, Rob Brooks, William Brooks, Walter Brooks and J.C. Brooks.

Left to cherish precious memories, one brother, John Brooks (Mary) of Shelby; a brother-in-law, Roosevelt Mance also of Shelby and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 3:00 PM at Good Samaritan Baptist Church with Rev. James Coleman officiating and Rev. Larry Brooks delivering the eulogy.  Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:00 PM.
