Nancy Boggs
Nancy Boggs, 82, of Fallston, NC, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday after a short sickness at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center in Myrtle Beach.

Nancy graduated from Cherryville High School.  The Homecoming Queen was working in her father’s restaurant, The Ritz  Café, in downtown Cherryville when she met her life-long partner and husband Ken Boggs, who had just
returned from serving with The Merrill’s Marauders in China-Burma-India Theatre during World War II.  

Mrs. Boggs graduated from Lenoir-Rhyne College in 1963 and Limestone College. She was a former school teacher in Cherryville.  Her hobbies included making porcelain dolls and writing film manuscripts and books. Nancy’s pen name was Ann Hager.

She was also an extraordinary homemaker and taught her children everything from how to pick cotton to how to cook.  Mrs. Boggs’ determination was one of her strongest traits in achieving any task.

She was predeceased by her parents Marvin Hager and Lena Hooper Hager Pascute; her husband John Kenneth Boggs of Fallston and two grandchildren, Nikki and Chad Putnam.  

She is survived by her daughter Debbie Harwell (David) of Myrtle Beach and a son Kenny Boggs (Wanda) of Shelby; four grandchildren, Mike Putnam (Rebecca) of Raleigh; Kristen Boggs of Los Angeles; Kellie Boggs of Fallston and Abbey Strange (Jonathan) of Shelby; three great-grandchildren Grayson, Chase and Cohen Putnam and one step-sister Vicky Turner of Fallston; a step-brother Gregory Hager (Sibyle) of Conover, NC.   Also surviving are in-laws Max
(Ann) Boggs and Sarah Boggs; nephews and nieces including Jack Williams, Gary (Jo) Boggs, MaeBeth Boggs, Andy (Mary) Boggs,  Jim (Fay) Deviney, Max (Robin) Deviney, Barbara Deviney and Bob (Ruth) Deviney, Tommy (Kim) Grayson, Dr. Claude (Neveen) Falls,  Joe (Angelia) Turner, Sandy (Eddie) Turner Plank, Cindy (Jerry) Turner Hord,
Brian  Hooper and Leslie Hooper Bolick.

Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall at Friendship Methodist Church in Fallston on Thursday with the funeral service following in the Church Sanctuary.  Burial will be at Rose Hill Memorial Cemetery.
