Nancy Carol Eaker Fitch, 72, of 236 Blackwell Rd, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 29th, 2021, at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born in Shelby, she was the wife of James "Jim" Fitch Jr. and the daughter of the late Herman and Mattie Humphries Eaker. Mrs. Fitch retired as a teacher after more than 30 years with the Cleveland County school district and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, Mrs. Fitch is survived by a son, Jonathan Fitch, of the home, a daughter, Amy Fitch Leyton (David), of Wales, UK, a brother, Harold Eaker (Pat), of Shelby, and a sister, Sarah Eaker, of Shelby.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 1st, 2021, from 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm at Gordon Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 2nd, 2021 at 2:00 pm at New Hope Baptist Church of Earl with Rev. Russ Bradley officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
