Nancy Flavilla Poteat Alderman, 75, Morganton, passed away Thursday, April
21, 2011 at Burke Hospice and Palliative Care.
Born December 27, 1935 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late
Jay Poteat and Nannie Lee Penson Poteat. She was retired Broughton Hospital
as a CNA. Mrs. Alderman was a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alton
Alderman; son, Gary Walker; two brothers, Bill Poteat and John Poteat.
She is survived by a son, Tim "Bear" Walker of Indian Trail; daughter, Robin
Bradshaw and husband, Randy of Connelly Springs; four grandchildren, Jeremy
Walker and wife, Angela of Shelby, Jonas Bradshaw of Connelly Springs, Megan
Walker of Jacksonville and Derek Watkins of Indian Trail; six
great-grandchildren, Donnie, Ethan and Kaylynn Walker all of Shelby, Kenley
Burdette of Shelby, Katie Watkins and Derek Watkins, Jr. both of Twenty Nine
Palms, CA; four sisters, Joyce Carter and husband William of Kernersville,
Kaye Carter and husband Thomas of Bostic, Judy Simmons and husband JE of
Anderson, SC and Libby Haskins and husband Bobby of Kings Mountain; and
brothers, Joel Poteat and wife Bonnie of King Mountain and Dean Poteat and
wife Margaret of Brevard and nemours nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm Saturday at Corinth Baptist Church, Casar
Funeral Service: 3:00 pm Saturday at Corinth Baptist Church, Casar

Burial: Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery
