Naomi Marie Melnick, age 85, died Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at Cleveland Pines. Born in Staten Island, NY, on August 16, 1928, she was the daughter of the late John William and Agnes Bell Finnerty. She was a member of St. Mary’s Help of Christians RC Church. In addition to her parents, Naomi is preceded in death by her husband;  a daughter, Naomi Marie Wilson; a son, John William Hurley; a sister, Marge Briguglio; and four brothers, William Finnerty, Jack Finnerty, Ed Finnerty, and Francis Finnerty.

Naomi is survived by her son, Ray Hurley and wife Ann of Shelby; a sister, Dot Meier of NJ; two grandchildren, Shaun Hurley and wife Cathy, and Megan Dezendorf and husband Kent; and six great-grandchildren, Charlie Hurley, Patrick Dezendorf,  Macy Hurley, Luke Dezendorf, Edison Hurley, and Lance Dezendorf.

The family would like to thank the staff at Sterling House for all the wonderful care that Naomi received while she lived there.

A private memorial service will be held in New York at a later date.
