Shelby, NC - Naomi Ruth Martin Malone, 82, of Peak Resource Nursing Home in Shelby, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center.

Born in Gaffney, she was the widow of the late Robert Malone and daughter of the late Herbert Martin and Bleeka Adams Martin. She was a graduate of York High School and a retired chef. She loved cooking, spending time with her nieces and nephews and loved going to the beach with her sisters. She was a member of Sunset Park Baptist Church in Wilmington, NC.

Surviving are two step-daughters, Debbie Wall and husband, John of Charlotte, NC and Yuvonne Jones of Cornelius, NC; two sisters, Ila Bruce Miller and Linda Cavney, both of Gaffney; a step-grandchild, Angela Tyrell and husband, Jim of Davidson, NC; two step-great grandchildren, J. B. & Claire Tyrell; numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Frances White, Reba Barnes and Mary Hughey and three brothers, Roy Martin, William (Chubby) Martin and Gene Martin.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Temple Baptist Church. Memorial services will immediately follow at 1:00 PM at the Church with Rev. Andy Cooper officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Memory Gardens in Charlotte, NC.
