Mr. Costner served our country in the U.S. Army.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan Fitzhugh Costner, Sr. and Hazel Heffner Costner.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jane Gantt Costner; 1 daughter, Lynn Vaughan and husband Steve of Lawndale; 1 brother, Roger D. Costner and wife Diane of Shelby; 1 sister, Nancy Harper and husband Gary of Archdale; several nieces and nephews; and special companion, Brandi.
