Neal Clarence Bolick

Mr. Neal Clarence Bolick, 90, of 505 E. Church St., passed away on Monday, November 11, 2013 at Morningside Assisted Living in Gastonia.

Neal was born in Catawba County, NC on August 24, 1923 a son of the late Clarence Edgar Bolick and Sarah Daisy Witherspoon Bolick.  He graduated from Ball’s Creek High School.  Neal was retired after 36 years from Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation as a long line driver.  He was member of First Presbyterian Church of Cherryville and the Men’s Bible Class.  Neal was a devoted member of Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505 A.F. & A.M. for over 50 years, he was also a 32nd degree KCCH Scottish Rite Mason for over 50 years , member of Oasis Shriners of Charlotte and a charter member of Cherryville Shrine Club and a member of Cherryville American Legion Post 100.  Neal proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Jessie Lee Devine Bolick; a sister Virgalene Bolick Lee; and two brothers, Dock Durant Bolick, Cecil Bolick and Ernest Bolick 

Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Neal Bolick “Babs” Beam and husband John P. III and Dale Ann Bolick Putnam both of Cherryville; four grandchildren, Laura Beam Warren and husband Matthew, John P. Beam IV and wife Carly, Elizabeth Putnam Leonard and husband Cris and Sarah Putnam Chase and husband Joel; four great grandchildren, Kynleigh and Caleb Warren and John Beam, V and Suzanna Beam; and a brother Bill Bolick of Catawba.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Morningside Assisted Living in Gastonia and Hospice of Gaston County for their love, care and compassion.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 1:45 until 2:45PM at First Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall and other times the family will be at the home.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 3:00PM at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Bill Lowe officiating.
Burial will be at City Memorial Cemetery with Military Honors by Cherryville American Legion Post 100 Honor Guard and Full Masonic Rites by Cherryville Masonic Lodge #505 A.F. & A.M.
