More Info: A program on the History of Quilting, presented by the Foothills Quilting Guild. This is a Trunkshow of personal quilts covering 164 years in time. The speaker will be Christi Schaffer and members of the Foothills Quilting Guild. Everyone is welcome.

The Cecilia Music Club: The Cecilia Music Club will hold it's October meeting at 3:15 pm Thursday, October 2, at the Eugenia Young Memorial Library. A most delightful program will be presented by the well-known group "Dancing Fleas", a high-energy, ukulele party band known for their genre-bending performances that include uplifting originals and covers from classic country to funky tunes. The Feature will be given by Jo Marsh. Helen Gilliatt will share the Hymn of the Month which includes the history of the music as well as the composer. All of us truly enjoy singing it! We conclude our meeting with light refreshments and fellowship time. If you love to have music in your life, consider joining us. Annual club dues are very reasonable.

Writer's INK: Writer's INK, local writing group will meet on Friday, October 3 at the Cleveland County Library. Group will meet in front conference room fronm 1-3 pm. Writer's of all genres are welcome to attend and share stories and participate in group discussions regarding writing topics.

Infant Loss Awareness Candlelight Walk: You're invited to a time of remembrance, hope, and healing. October 15th at 5:30 pm. We will gather at Patriot Park in Kings Mountain, 220 S Railroad Ave. This evening is set aside to honor the precious babies we carry in our hearts but not in our arms. There will be guest speakers, music, and a special light walk in memory of our children. Together, we will share their names, their love, and the impact they forever hold in our lives. If you are a parent, family member, or friend who has been touched by the loss of a child, we welcome you with open hearts. Nar-Anon Support Group: Meets 6:30 pm weekly on Tuesdays at the First Baptist Church, 120 N. Lafayette St., Shelby, NC. Nar-Anon is a support group for those affected by someone else's drug addiction. We meet in the classroom off Dale St. between Sumter & Campbell St. Park on the side of the church or in the alley. Al-Anon Support Groups: Al-Anon Family Support Groups support those who are affected by someone else's drinking and drug use.
