The ReStore sells donated materials such as new and gently used furniture, house wares, building supplies, and miscellaneous items to the public. Profits from the ReStore go directly to help build homes right here in Cleveland County (10% of undesignated funds go to HFH International to build homes globally). The current home we are building is on Cottonwood Dr in Shelby and sponsored by the Shelby Breakfast, Shelby Lunch, and Boiling Springs Rotary Clubs. Much work has already been completed. This will be the twenty-fifth home built by Habitat for Humanity in Cleveland County since its incorporation in Dec. 1987. We do not build the house FOR a family; we build it WITH them. We find that this reinforces a sense of pride and ownership with each family. The family pays for the house with a no interest mortgage. We hope and pray that God will continue to bless us in Cleveland County so that we can help many more families become homeowners!
