Relay for Life
Double Springs Baptist Church, 1130 Double Springs Church Road, Shelby, NC, will hold a yard sale, Friday, April 8, 2016, 5:00-7:00pm and Saturday, April 9, 2016, 7:00-11:00am with biscuit breakfast beginning at 7:30am.
The Angels of Hope team will hold a yard sale, Saturday, April 9, 2016, 7:00am until 12:00 noon, at 107 Twin Lake Drive, Boiling Springs, NC (turn at Old John Deere dealership onto W. Homestead and 2nd street to right. Lots of items to sell, collection of clowns, dolls, linens, clothes, baby furniture, household items, toys, pictures, frames, Carolina Panthers Sunday book and much more! Rain or shine. All monies go for Relay for Life!
Shelby High School Class of 1955
The Shelby High School Class of 1955 will have a monthly get together on the second Friday of each month at Ichiban's Buffet on East Dixon Blvd., in Shelby, NC. All classmates and guests are welcome to join them for food and fellowship. Mark your calendar for Friday, April 8, 2016 at 11:30am and on the second Friday of each month. Annual Boy Scout Fish Fry
The Friends of Troop 112 are sponsoring the Annual Boy Scout Fish Fry, Saturday, April 9, 2016, at the Community Center, Piedmont Drive, Lawndale, NC. It will start at 5:00pm. Fish, slaw, hushpuppies, fries, tea and dessert, $10. There will also be a raffle. For first prize: Remington 870 Shotgun or Henry .22 Caliber Rifle; second price: Yeti 50 Cooler. Cleveland County Schools presents "Cleveland County Elementary Honors Chorus" featuring 125+ select students from the following elementary schools: Bethware, Boiling Springs, Casar, East, Elizabeth, Fallston, Graham, Grover, James Love, Jefferson, Kings Mountain Intermediate, North, Marion Intermediate, Shelby Intermediate, Springmore, Township Three, Union, Washington, and West. All-day rehearsal at The Barnes Auditorium at Kings Mountain High School on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 8:30-12:00 and 12:45-2:15. (Please take pictures and do interviews during the later rehearsal time! Preferably around 1:45pm!) A free genealogy workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 7:00pm in the Community Room at the Mauney Memorial Library by the Col. Frederick Hambright DAR Chapter, in conjunction with the library and the Broad River Genealogy Society. The public is invited to attend. Anyone interested in their family history is encouraged to join us for this event. Genealogists familiar with family histories across the region will assist to get you started or offer suggestions in challenges you might face with your research.

South Mountain Family Camp
SMFC will host a groundbreaking ceremony and reception for the new Lodge on Saturday, April 16, 2016, at 10:00am. Come and see the camp and learn more about the new motel like rooms we are adding to our "for rent" camp. The Lodge is located on the Great Meadow so the view is breathtaking. We have several weeks open for camp this summer so we welcome church youth groups, children's programs and many other group who would like a great place for a wonderful camp.
Caribbean 5K Run/Walk
Medical Patient Modesty will be holding a "Caribbean 5K Run/Walk Saturday, April 30, 2016. Race will begin at 10:00am (registration at 9:00am). The Guardians of the Children will be holding a Car/Bike Show and Drag Racing Event. Proceeds will be going to support the Cleveland County Chapter. A Pasta Supper and raffle to benefit Brian Chapman, who is battling ALS, will be held at Carpenter's Grove Baptist Church, 1117 Carpenter's Grove Church Road, Lawndale, NC, on Saturday, April 9, 2016 from 4:30pm until. Plates include pasta with meat sauce or Alfredo sauce, salad, garlic toast and dessert. Tickets are $10 and include a chance to win one of the raffle prizes.
