Cleveland County Library, Shelby
Cleveland County Library, 104 Howie Drive, Shelby, NC will hold an Art Exhibit Friday, September 1, 2017. Artist Sue Brabham- Rev Sue Brabham, a retired RN, singer, artist and public speaker, now pursues her passions for all things creative. After spending 40 years working as a nurse, she feels it is time to follow her dreams. She obtained her Bachelor's in Nursing after high school and became an ordained minister 8 years ago. She has always had an eye for beauty around her and often tells people that "she can see beauty where others cannot". She first displayed her art on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ when she was just 15, and has drawn and painted ever since. She is a self-taught artist that paints from her heart. While Sue generally works with acrylics, she also likes to use oils and mixed media. When asked about her biggest accomplishment in art she will readily tell you of the painting that she did for iconic country singer Dolly Parton! "I just love to paint; but more than that, I love to put a smile on someone's face". So whether it's canvas, wood, glass or walls, you can usually find Sue painting on something! Or singing or writing or speaking somewhere!
