American Legion Post 82 Walk
for Veterans Parade
The American Legion Post 82 will be holding a Walk For Veterans Parade on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 9:00, in Shelby, NC. The Purpose of the Walk is to raise the awareness of our Veterans and their families, and to bring to light the difficulties many of our Veterans face in receiving the health care and benefits that they have earned; and in conjunction with our National Commander Schmidts' visit to our city and community. The walk will start on the corner of Warren St. and Lafayette in front of Victoria Stevens. This corner and the corner of Warren St. and Washington St., will be blocked by our City Police, our American Legion Riders, will provide road guards as we cross Graham St. and walk down to the Don Gibson Theater, then return to our starting point, the entire event should be over in about one hour. Hospice Cleveland County
Hospice Cleveland County will hold the following event: Memory Bear & Pillow Workshop Tuesday, August 15, 2017 and Tuesday, September 19, 2017, 9:00am - Noon or 4:00pm - 7:00pm, at the Hospice Administration Building, Testa Family Hospice House by request only! Participants will have the opportunity to make a teddy bear or pillow out of a loved one's shirt or other article of clothing. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. Casar Masonic Lodge Golf Tournament
The Casar Masonic Lodge 11th Annual Golf Tournament Captain's Choice will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017, 9:00 am, check will be at 8:00am. Shotgun Start. It will be held at Pine Mountain Golf Course, 2961 Pine Mountain Drive, Connelly Springs, NC. Four Man Team, $240 per Team entry fee. Prizes: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, longest Drive, and Longest Putt, Closest to Hole (Par 3s). Free golf towels to the First 48 Entrants. Mulligan's and Tee Busters included. Breakfast and Lunch Provided. This will be to support the Masonic Children's Home and Masonic and Eastern Star Home. Shelby Lions Club
The Shelby Lions Club will be distributing USDA Commodities on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the Cleveland County Fair Ground. Those who wish to come to the fairground on Wednesday, September 13th and fill out an application will only need to give their home address. They must live in Cleveland County. Those unable to come in person, they may send a note stating the number in the family, their address and their whole family income, signed by them. The distribution is based on the number in the family and the income of the household.

Shelby Senior Friends Dinner Group invites you to join then the third Thursday of the month at Showmars for supper the third Thursday of the month at Showmars at 5:00pm and alternating local restaurants the first Friday of the month.
