The Town of Waco
The Town of Waco will hold it's monthly meeting on Monday, January 19, 2015, located at Town Hall, at 7:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend.
The Shelby Garden Club
The Shelby Garden Club will meet Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at 10:30am at the Dover YMCA Boardroom in Shelby. The guest speaker will be Ron Hoover. Hospice Cleveland County
Hospice Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC, will be holding the following events for January:
"Reflections" Support Group - Wednesdays: January 21, 28, & February 4, 11, 18, 2015; 11:30am - 1:00pm. This grief sharing group meets for six weeks. No cost and open to anyone who has lost a loved one. If you plan to attend one of our groups, please make every effort to attend all six sessions. Registration forms are available at HCC Administration Offices or by calling 704-487-4677.
"Memory Bear Workshop" - Thursday, January 29, 2015, 9:00am - Noon or 4:00pm - 7:00pm, Hospice Cleveland County Administration Building and Tuesday, March 3, 2015, 9:00am - Noon or 4:00pm - 7:00pm, Kings Mountain Hospice House, 321 Kings Mountain Blvd., Kings Mountain, NC. Participants will have the opportunity to make a teddy bear out of a loved one's shirt or other article of clothing. Children are welcome if accompanied by an adult. Space is limited. Please call one of our Grief Counselors at 704-487-4677 to reserve your space.
"Hospice Volunteer Training Class" is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about hospice care and the services provided to the community. This 12-hour course is free. To get credit for the entire course, you will need to attend all days at one of the times offered. Monday, March 16, Tuesday, March 17, and Thursday, March 19, 2015; 9:00am - 1:00pm or 5:30pm - 9:30pm, at the Hospice Cleveland County Administration Building, 323 E. North Shelby School
North Shelby School, 1205 Northside Drive, Shelby, NC will be holding their "Teddy Bear's North Shelby School Senior Beach Trip Annual Chicken Dinner", Friday, January 30, 2015. Help support the annual North Shelby Beach Run. Plates include 1/2 Chicken, Beans, Slaw, Roll and Dessert. Tickets are available at North Shelby School. Parents Without Partners, Shelby
PWP meets every Monday night at 7:00 pm. at the Shelby Presbyterian Church for educational programs and at other times as scheduled for monthly social activities including: dances, plays, and concerts. Piecemakers Quilt Guild
Piecemakers Quilt Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month from 10:00am - 12:00pm at the Lincoln Co. Senior Center, Lincoln Campus of Gaston College, 511 Aspen St., Lincolnton. We are here to teach and encourage those interested in the art of quilting, visitors and new members are always welcome. Kiwanis Club of Shelby is a group of professionals who are involved in the community and looking to change Cleveland County, one child at a time. This fundraising and project oriented club meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month at noon at Smoke on the Square - Private Dining room, 5 East Marion Street, Shelby, NC; or the 2nd Thursday evening of every month at 5:30pm at Dragonfly Wine Market, 101 West Warren Street, Shelby, NC. One evening social a month at area restaurants. Membership dues are $40 per quarter plus $60 for meals per quarter if you attend lunch meetings.
