Survivor Suicide Support Group
Survivors of Suicide Support Group, meets the last Tuesday of every month, 11:30am - 1:30 pm at the Cleveland Memorial Library. Sponsored by the Mental Health Association in Cleveland County, this support group offers support to those who have lost a loved one to suicide. All members of the group, including the facilitator, have experienced this unique loss. For details, contact the Mental Health Association at 704-481-8637 or mha@clevelandcountymha.org Family-to-Family Caregiver Support Group, meets every third Tuesday of the month, 6:30 - 8:00 pm at the Cleveland County Red Cross (1333 Fallston Road, Shelby, NC 28150) Co-sponsored by the Mental Health Association in Cleveland County and NAMI Rutherford/Cleveland, this support group offers a safe space for close relatives of persons suffering from a severe mental illness to share their experience with others in a similar situation. Piecemakers Quilt Guild
Piecemakers Quilt Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month from 10AM - 12PM at the Lincoln County Senior Center, Lincoln Campus of Gaston College, 511 Aspen Street, Lincolnton, room 319. They teach and encourage those interested in the art of quilting. Visitors and new members are welcome. Solid Rock Garden, Lawndale
Solid Rock Community garden in Lawndale will have regular work nights on Monday evenings at 6:00 pm, now through the summer months. Life Enrichment Center - Vacation Tips For Dealing With Dementia
If you plan to travel with someone with dementia, you’re invited to the next meeting of the family caregiver support group at Life Enrichment Center in Shelby Tuesday, July 17. The meeting, which is free of charge and open to the public, will begin at 5:30 p.m. and continue until 7; although, families are encouraged to come when they can and leave as necessary. It is an informal group of family caregivers who are dealing with dementia. Life Enrichment is an adult day health service, which has been caring for people with dementia for 32 years. The regular monthly meeting of the Victory Over Stroke group will be held Monday, July 23, at the Life Enrichment Center in Shelby. Those who have had a stroke and their care partners are invited to ask questions and talk about the techniques that helped them thrive, not just survive, a stroke.
