Piecemakers Quilt Guild         
   Piecemakers Quilt Guild meets the first Wednesday of each month from 10AM - 12PM at the Lincoln County Senior Center, Lincoln Campus of Gaston College, 511 Aspen Street, Lincolnton, room 319. They teach and encourage those interested in the art of quilting. Visitors and new members are welcome. Solid Rock Garden, Lawndale
  Solid Rock Community garden in Lawndale will have regular work nights on Monday evenings at 6:00 pm, now through the summer months. If you enjoy gardening and want to help grow nutritious food for our neighbors - please join us. South Mtn. State Park Environmental Programs

   Saturday, August 4 - “Black Bears: Majestic Creatures of the Wild” How dangerous are black bears?  Can we coexist?  Why are black bears so unique?  What should I do if I see a black bear?  The program will begin at 11:00 am in the Visitor Center.
  Saturday, August 4 - “Animals of the South Mountains” - Join a Park Ranger to learn about the many animals that call South Mountains home. The program will begin at 2:00 pm in the Visitor Center auditorium.
   Sunday, August 5 - “Bats” - Are bats blind?  Do they fly into your hair?  Do they turn into vampires?  Join a Park Ranger at the Visitor Center at 2:00 pm to learn some Bat facts and have an opportunity to view some Bats.
  Saturday, August 11 - “Tree ID Hike” - Join a Park Ranger for a 1.0 mile hike along the Hemlock Nature Trail.  Tree identification will be the focus of this hike.  Meet at the Jacob Fork Parking Area at 11:00 am.

Survivors Of Suicide Support Group
   Survivors of Suicide Support Group, meets the last Tuesday of every month, 11:30am - 1:30 pm at the Cleveland Memorial Library. Sponsored by the Mental Health Association in Cleveland County, this support group offers support to those who have lost a loved one to suicide. All members of the group, including the facilitator, have experienced this unique loss. For details, contact the Mental Health Association at 704-481-8637 or mha@clevelandcountymha.org.
    Family-to-Family Caregiver Support Group, meets every third Tuesday of the month, 6:30 - 8:00 pm at the Cleveland County Red Cross (1333 Fallston Road, Shelby, NC 28150) Co-sponsored by the Mental Health Association in Cleveland County and NAMI Rutherford/Cleveland, this support group offers a safe space for close relatives of persons suffering from a severe mental illness to share their experience with others in a similar situation.  Singles Dinner Club, Forest City
   Singles Dinner Club (ages 45 and up) will meet at Ryan’s, Hwy. 74A, Forest City, July 20, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. (3rd Friday of each month). Bring your single friends or come alone. Victory Over Stroke Meeting
Life Enrichment Center
   The regular monthly meeting of the Victory Over Stroke group will be held Monday, July 23, at the Life Enrichment Center in Shelby. Those who have had a stroke and their care partners are invited to ask questions and talk about the techniques that helped them thrive, not just survive, a stroke. The group includes those who have recently experienced a stroke and those who  are thriving years later. For more information, call Linda at 704.484.0405. Girls Fast Pitch Softball Tryouts To Be Held
  The Lady Bandits 12u & 14u will be hosting tryouts for the 2012 fall season and the 2013 spring/summer seasons.  We are looking for dedicated players who are serious about the game but also know how to have fun while competing.  ‘99 and ‘00 birthdays preferred but will consider the right candidates.   Tryouts will be held July 28th at 11:00 am at Boiling Springs Baptist Church: 307 South Main Street, Boiling Springs NC.  If you are interested and have any questions or would like a private tryout, please call Will at (630) 606-3972.

Football & Cheer Sign-Ups
   The Boiling Springs Little Chargers Football & Cheer Sign-Ups  will be held August 1st through August 3rd, 5:30-7:00 p.m. and August 6th and 7th, 5:30-7:00 p.m. This is for boys and girls grades K through 6th grade, as of this coming school year.
