Solid Rock Garden Work Evening, Lawndale
Solid Rock Garden Work Evening will be Thursday, June 23, 2016 starting at 5:30pm at a community garden on the grounds of the Upper Cleveland Rescue Squad (1032 W Stage Coach Trail, Lawndale, NC 28090). People are invited to grow food for themselves and local food pantry. We are trying to take back the space from overgrown grass and weeds! The garden needs quite a bit of attention/love and all help is appreciated! Bring gardening tools and gloves, water and snacks provided. All skill levels are welcome! Cherryville Little Theatre
"Legally Blonde, Jr" will perform at Cherryville Little Theatre June 24-26, 2016. Based on the award-winning Broadway musical and the smash hit motion picture, Legally Blonde Jr. is a fabulous fun journey of self-empowerment and expanding horizons. The show's instantly recognizable songs are filled with humor, wit and sass - leaving cast members and audiences alike seeing pink! Directors, Page Thompson, Patrick Stepp, Carver Thompson and Charley Dowda, along with the 30 cast and tech members are excited to bring this fun hearted story to life on the Cherryville stage. Tickets are $5 at the door or you can pre-purchase tickets by calling the box office at 704-842-2147. Lost Playwrights, Hendersonville
Lost Playwrights will meet Saturday, June 25, 2016, from 2:00pm to 4:00pm, in the auditorium of Henderson County Library, 301 North Washington Street, Hendersonville, NC. Anyone interested in any aspect of theatre or creative writing is welcome. There are no dues.

Town of Lattimore
The Town of Lattimore invites everyone to be a part of the annual Fourth of July parade and celebration on Monday, July 4, 2016. Entries will begin lining up for the parade on Oak Drive/Towery Road at 8:00am. The parade will begin at 9:00am and go up Westlee, Main, and Price Streets. Parade entries will include law enforcement vehicles, antique cars, horses, tractors, and much more! At the conclusion of the parade, a special program will be presented at the recreation park of Lattimore Baptist Church. The program will begin around 10:00am and will include the National Anthem, the recognition of veterans, and live music by Phil and Gaye Johnson and Jack Lawrence. Come early to get a prime seat and enjoy food sold along the parade route by the Lattimore Baptist Church youth group. Biscuits, hotdogs, and drinks will be sold at the recreation park. All proceeds will go toward funding youth activities such as summer camp. American Legion Post #74 will host a Gun Show on Saturday and Sunday, July 23 and 24, 2016, 9:00am-5:00pm, at Old Green Hill School, 2501 US 64/74A Hwy., Rutherfordton, NC 28139. Admission $5, children under 12 free. Handicapped parking and assistance is available. If you need a "Firearm Purchase Permit" please visit the Sheriff's Office in the county of your residence.
