What: South Mountains State Park Events
Where: South Mountains State Park, 3001 South Mountains Park Avenue, Connelly Springs, NC
More Info: Saturday, June 8 - "Hug-A-Tree". Teaches children basic techniques to aid in their survival is they do become lost. Visitor Center at 2:00 pm.
Sunday, June 9, 23, 30 - "Fly Fishing 101". Visitor Center at 2:00 pm. This introductory class on fly fishing will meet at the Clear Creek access off Branstrom Orchard Rd. Morganton NC.
Saturday, June 15 - "Basic Wilderness First Aid". Join park volunteer, Jeff Newton. He will introduce the items to take with you and what is available for first aid when you're in the back-country. This is not a certification class.
Sunday, June 16 - "Skulls & Skins". Join a Park Ranger to learn about the many animals that call South Mountains home. Begins at 11:00 am in the Visitor Center auditorium.
Saturday, June 22 - "Streamside Hike". 11:00 am at the Jacob Fork Parking Area.
Saturday, June 29 - "Wilderness Survival Class". Program is free and open to the public. Meet at the Visitor Center at 2:00 pm.
