What: Hospice Cleveland County Calendar of Events
Memory Bear & Pillow Workshop - Participants will have the opportunity to make a teddy bear or pillow out of a loved one's shirt or other article of clothing. Hospice Volunteer Training Class - Hospice training is open to anyone who is interested in learning more about hospice care and the services provided to the community. To get credit for the entire course, you will need to attend all days at one of the times offered or call to schedule a time to complete the training. Sponsor a Holiday Meal - This year Hospice Cleveland County will again provide Holiday dinners for our patients and families who need them. Any contribution will be appreciated. Lighting the Way - Please join us on Friday, December 13th as we light the way in Uptown Shelby. For each contribution of $10, a luminary with the name of the individual to be remembered will be placed on the Court Square in Uptown Shelby. A special military luminary is also available. Forms can be found on our website at www.hospicecares.cc and must be turned in no later than December 7th, 2018. Proceeds support the general operations of Hospice Cleveland County. Christmas Card Fundraiser - During this holiday season, experience a unique opportunity to celebrate the love and warmth of giving. For a $10 per card donation, we will mail a beautiful imprinted holiday card stating that you have made a contribution in honor or in memory of your loved ones, friends and / or business associates. "Navigating a Dementia Diagnosis" is a two-part program that will cover understanding Alzheimer's disease; dementia and the diagnostic process; and effective strategies for coping with day-to-day challenges of Alzheimer's. There will also be a panel of experts who will discuss creating a care team, as well as tips, resources, and services available for individuals and their families. More Info: The Cleveland County Veterans Advisory Council is taking applications for the annual Veterans Day Parade. Entry forms and Grand Marshall forms are available at the CC Veterans Service Office, CC Admn. Office, 311 E. Marion St., Shelby NC. Forms can also be obtained by emailing TVMustang68@bellsouth.net or calling 704-435-1516. The 2019 parade theme is "Women in the Military." Women veterans are encouraged to apply for Grand Marshall of the parade. Women veterans may be nominated by local veterans organizations too. The annual Veterans Day Program follows at 11 am. ALL Veterans and the public are welcome to attend.
