Graham Elementary Fall Festival
Graham Elementary Fall Festival will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2015, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Featuring: Ebony Horsemen. Event schedule: Concessions from 5:30-7:30; Ebony Horsemen 5:30-6:30; K-9 Demonstration 5:30-6:00; Games with Prizes 6:30-7:30; Book & Cake Walk 6:30-7:30. Kids wear your Halloween costume.

Kidney Walk for Awareness to Benefit National Kidney Foundation
Kidney Walk for Awareness to benefit the National Kidney Foundation will be held on Sunday, November 1, 2015, at 3:00pm. The start/finish line will be at Shelby City Park. The cost is free. The National Kidney Foundation's kidney walk is the nation's largest walk to fight kidney disease. Held in nearly 100 communities, the event raises awareness, and funds lifesaving programs that educate and support patients, their families, and those at risk. Starting at Shelby City Park walking to the Court Square they will be selling $1 raffle tickets and raffling off certificates, gifts, etc. donated by local businesses. Then a nice stroll back to the park to the finish line. You do not have to walk to participate in the event. We will start selling raffle tickets at the Court Square at 3:00pm and you do not have to be present to win! Raffle will begin at 4:00pm. All proceeds will then be turned in on November 8, 2015 in Durham, NC for the National Kidney Foundation. The team name for Durham event is "City of Pleasant Living", representing Shelby, NC! Shag Lessons, Shelby City Park

Shelby Intermediate School will hold their Fall Bazaar, Saturday, November 7, 2015 11:00am to 2:00pm. Vendors needed. Commercial and handmade items welcome! Limited indoor space $25. Outdoor space $20. They invite you to come and shop with them.
Broad River Genealogical Society
The Broad River Genealogical Society General Program "Hard Times in the Mill: Working Lives Past and Present." will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2015, 3:00 p.m. at Neal Senior Center, 100 T.R. CCRM Hosts 4th Annual Celebrate Hope Banquet
Cleveland County Rescue Mission announces today that it will host its Fourth Annual Celebrate Hope Banquet on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at 7 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church (606 South Dekalb Street, Shelby). Cost for tickets is $10 per person and all proceeds will be used to provide food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, medical assistance for the poor, and a renewed sense of self-worth for so many. The event will feature a homemade meal and desserts as well as special presentations by two program graduates who will share their celebrations of hope with those in attendance. Shelby No-Name Al-Anon Family Group
Shelby No-Name Al-Anon Family Group meets each Monday from 12:00-1:00pm, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 502 W. Sumter Street., Shelby, NC. The purpose of Al-Anon is to provide support to friends and families of alcoholics. Any one who is effected by someone else's use of alcohol or drugs is invited to attend.
