Nell was born April 20, 1934 in Williamsburg County, South Carolina.  Her passion in life was to be a hard-worker on her job, around her home, and for her family.  She loved sharing Bible truths with others.

Nell is survived by her husband of 57 years, Bob Blakeley; their children, Robby Blakeley and wife Beth of Mooresboro, Marcia Whisnant and husband Dana, and Paula Ramsey and husband Donnie of Shelby; their grandchildren, Brian Martin and wife Jennifer of Brooklyn, NY, Nicholas Whisnant and wife Stephanie, and Blake Whisnant and wife Amanda of Shelby;  her sisters, Lee Farmer of Orangeburg, SC and Allison Simmons of Kingstree, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ravenell Dupree Cantley, Jr. and Minnie Mae Cantley; her brothers, Richard Williams, R. D. Cantley, and Lynn Cantley; and her sisters, Dosson Strong and Barbara Ann Byrdic.

 A memorial service will be held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Shelby, NC on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 3:30 PM.  The family will receive friends at the Blakeley home.

Cleveland Funeral Service is serving the family.  The family will have a private graveside service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Life Enrichment Center, 110 Life Enrichment Blvd., Shelby, NC 28150 and Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.

 The family would like to give special thanks to the Life Enrichment Center, Hospice of Cleveland County and Sandy Poston for taking such good care of and being so kind to our “Nanny.”
