CLIFFSIDE - Long time Cliffside resident, Nell Deane Jenkins Scruggs, retired cosmetologist and business owner, died on Monday, January 14, 2013 at SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County, at age 83, after a long illness.
Mrs. Scruggs was the widow of Harry C. Scruggs of Cliffside and is survived by her sons, Eric Scruggs, Kelly Scruggs, and Scott Scruggs and wife Meg. She will be remembered fondly by the community for the pride she took in her family and her work. Her good cheer and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held from 12:00pm-2:00pm on Saturday, January 19, 2013 at McKinney-Landreth & Carroll Funeral and Cremation Service. Afterward, a graveside service will be held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Cleveland County.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to SECU Hospice House of Rutherford County, PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043.
