Nellie Jane Mitchem Davis, 78, of 327 David's Chapel Church Road, Vale, died Monday, January 11, 2016 at Carolinas HealthCare System Lincoln in Lincolnton.

Born February 3, 1937 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter of the late John Hazel Mitchem and Lula Leatherman Mitchem. She was retired from Lincoln County Schools as a food service supervisor and was a member of Hebron United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Harold Mitchem.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Billy Daniel Davis; two sons, Delaine Davis and wife, Donita of Vale and Dennis Davis and wife, Carla of Vale; four grandchildren, John Davis and wife, Laura, Jeffery Davis and wife, Katie; Katie Pearson and husband, Mark; Kellie Davis; great granddaughter, Paislie Pearson and two step great grandchildren, Charlie Yancey and Lane Leonhardt.

Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Wednesday, Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Inc., Fallston.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM, Thursday, at Hebron United Methodist Church with Rev. Cathy Turman and Rev. Ed Lynn officiating.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
