Nellie Mae Ellison Thrift, 82, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at
White Oak Manor.
The daughter of the late Ervin and Bertha Ellison she was retired from
White Oak Manor.
The was preceeded in death by her husband, Ed Thrift; brothers, James and
Melvin Ellison; and great-grandchild, Hunter Collings.
Surviving are her sons, Ted (Susan) Thrift and James Thrift of Shelby;
brothers, Doyle (Martha), Alvin (Niki), and Tommy Ellison; four sisters, Edith
Goforth (Wayne), Elizabeth Lowery (Julius), Ruth Cook (Gene), and Viola Kilgore
(David); grandchildren Ashley Cook and Quinton Thrift; great-grandchild, Zander
Cook; and 18 nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8 at the Lutz-Austell Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends one hour prior to the service. Interment followed at Sunset Cemetery.
