Mrs. Nellie Sue Hoppes Tessneer, age 82 of Shelby, NC, passed away November 13, 2014 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby.  Funeral services will be held 2:30 pm Sunday, November 16, 2014 at Cleveland Funeral Services and Crematory Chapel conducted by Rev. Tommy Price and Rev. Wayne Pittman.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:30 pm prior to the service at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery.     

   She is survived by a daughter, Robinette Tessneer of Shelby, NC, a brother, Noah Hoppes and wife Martha of Shelby, NC, a sister-in-law, Linda Hoppes of Boiling Springs, SC, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

   Born June 17, 1932 in Cleveland County, Mrs. Tessneer was the daughter of the late Willie Carl and Betty (Wilson) Hoppes and was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Billy Ralph Tessneer, two brothers, Carl Hoppes, Jr. and Thomas Lee Hoppes.  Mrs. Tessneer was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Shelby.  She loved her Church and her family but especially enjoyed taking care of her pets which she considered family.

   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Association for Welfare-Animals, 708 Hanover Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
