Newell B Cooper, 76 of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on January 20, 2018 in Charlotte, NC. Born in Cleveland County NC , He was the son of the late Landrum Audi and Fannie Lee Boles Cooper . He was preceded in death by brothers Tommy Cooper and William Cooper. Newell was a long distance truck driver and a pipeline heavy equipment operator, retiring after 30 years of service. He served in the US Army from 1960 until 1964 and was a member of the North Carolina National Guard until 1978. Newell enjoyed attending Bluegrass Festivals and helping others. Newell was a Mason at the Fairview Masonic Lodge #339, and a member of the American Legion. He was a supporter and contributor of the NC Sheriffs Association and the Masonic Children's Home in Oxford NC. Newell was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he loved attending services.

Children: Malissa Cavazos and husband Rick, Rhonda Cooper, Dwight Cooper and wife Kitty, and Douglas Cooper and wife Benita

Grandchildren: Dan'elle Cooper, Lillie and Lannie Cooper, Maria Cavazos, Joshua and Kelsey Cooper, Grayson and Rylee Cooper

Great Grandchildren: Natalie, Austin and Dalton Silvers, Braxton Barrett

Siblings: Dwight Cooper, Jewell Huffstetler

MEMORIAL SERVICE: 3:00 PM , Monday January 22, 2018 at Macedonia Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, NC wit Rev. Michael Horne

VISITATION: 2:00PM - 3:00PM prior to the service in the church

INTERMENT: Private graveside services for the family will be held at a later date
