Noah C. Hoppes

SHELBY- Noah C. Hoppes, 87, died Tues., Feb. 23, 2016, at Hospice at Wendover. A native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Carl and Elizabeth "Betty" Wilson Hoppes. Noah had a working career in textiles, and was a faithful and loving member of Lily Memorial Baptist Church. As an avid Shelby High School Football fan, having attended every game, with the exception of 12, from 1949 to present. He loved spending time with his friends at Bojangles, and all of his many lifelong friends.

PRECEDED: In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Thelma Wease Hoppes; second wife, Martha "Mot" Hoppes; brothers, Carl Hoppes Jr, and Thomas Hoppes; and sister, Nellie Tessneer

SURVIVED: He is survived by his son, Delane Hoppes and wife Traci; daughter, Rita Lowe and husband Jim; step-daughter, Tami Hamrick and husband Joey, all of Shelby; grandchildren, Ian Hoppes and wife Emily of Raleigh, Meghan Hoppes and friend, Michael Ferrell of Shelby, Felicity and Fletcher Hoppes; great-grandchildren, Norah and Elizabeth "Libby" Hoppes; step-grandson, Kevin Hamrick and wife Chasity; step-great grandchildren, Braeley Hamrick, Seth and Hayden Canipe; special family friends, Judy Carr, April and Zach Stearnes; and many nieces and nephews

FUNERAL SERVICES: Funeral services will be held 2pm, Thursday, at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel

VISITATION: The family will receive friends Thursday, 12:30-2pm, at the funeral home, and other times at the home of his daughter, Rita and Jim Lowe

BURIAL: will follow in Sunset Cemetery

CLERGY: Revs. Jared Pankhurst and Keith Dixon will officiate
