Nora Clark Heavner

Cherryville - Mrs. Nora Clark Heavner, 80, of Requa Road, passed away on
Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Peak Resources in Cherryville.

Nora was born in Gaston County, North Carolina on October 19, 1937 a
daughter of the late Charles Henry Clark, Sr. and Vergie Smith Clark. She
was a a graduate of Tryon High School class of 1955. Nora retired after 30
years of service from Carolina Freight Carriers Corporation from the Revenue
Control Department. She was a longtime faithful member of First United
Methodist Church in Cherryville where she served in the United Methodist
Women, was a member of the June Medlin Sunday School class and the Callie
Beam Circle and also served in numerous other capacities at the church.
Nora and Ben hosted the First United Methodist Church annual fall festival
at their home for many years. She was a former member of Cherryville
Chapter #156 Order of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 56
years, Ben Heavner.

Survivors include her son Mark Heavner; two grandchildren, Alex and Claire
Heavner all of Knoxville, TN; a brother, C.H. Clark, Jr. of Crouse; two
sisters, Martha Stroup of Bessemer City and Virginia Sigmon of Catawba and
numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 3:00 to 5:00PM at
Stamey-Cherryville Funeral Home & Cremation Service.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:30PM on Sunday, January 14,
2018 at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Joe D. Collins, D. Min.
officiating.

Burial will be in the Black family section of City Memorial Cemetery.

Cherryville, NC 28021 or to Hospice of Cleveland County, 951 Wendover
Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.
